Note that more complex designs for both digital art and plushies will increase the price! I will let you know if your character design counts as complex and if I am just unable to do your commission, but typically complex characters have many small markings, scales, hair, etc.

Specialized Icons - $35 for 1 colored half-body, character name, and circular crop. (can add more for additional costs)

Custom Plushies

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have an Australian cattle dog who loves to help me work! Unfortunately, he sheds a lot, so it is not recommended that you commission a plushie from me if you are allergic to dog hair!I create my plushies from scratch! The process is pretty different from commissioning digital art:

Step 1: The Plushie Ref

  • You will first pay $10 for a sketched reference sheet designed for your plushie.

  • I will tweak the reference sheet as requested in order to fit the posed you want.

  • You may request other positions other than sitting so long as those positions are also symmetrical. I cannot guarantee that I can do every position.

  • Asymmetrical characters are allowed.

  • If you would not like to continue the commission before or when I send you the reference sheet, you can be refunded 50% (the same percentage for refunds for sketches according to my terms of service). After you approve of the sketch, I will begin the final draft and you cannot be refunded for the reference sheet.

  • You may not offer me a reference sheet to base your plushie on, as plushies are done in my style. Attempting to copy my style in order to make a reference sheet is also not allowed.

  • Upon receiving approval of this reference sheet, I will send you a form so you can send the rest of the necessary details for your plushie!

Step 2: The Materials
Fabric

  • You must choose between fleece or minky fabric for your plushie! It is recommended that you visit a fabric or craft shop to see the difference between these fabrics, however, in my experience, minky is a lot less available in in-person stores. Fortunately, practically every plushie (especially those of copyrighted characters) uses minky fabric, so it's easy to see the difference there.

  • Fleece typically ranges from $5 to $10 per yard, making it the cheaper option for plushies.

  • Minky typically ranges from $8 to $15, with shipping costs making it more costly. However, minky is incredibly soft and typically used for plushies.

  • If I cannot find a color of fabric for your plushies, I will have to choose an alternative. I will let you know whether or not a color for your plushie is available before you pay for the proof of concept reference sheet.

  • I can offer felt for specific small areas of the plushie, but not the entire plushie.

Markings

  • If your character contains small markings, these will be either embroidered or appliqued on your plushie!

  • In both cases, you will be charged per individual color, potentially multiple times, if necessary. I will let you know beforehand if this is the case.

Stuffing

  • By default, your plushie will be stuffed with polyfill. Polyfill is made with recycled polyester, so it is hypoallergenic!

  • If any part of your plushie needs to be weighted, you will also be charged for poly-pellets. These are polyester pellets that have a bit more weight so you can have floppy ears, dragging tails, etc.

Other

  • If you would like attaching parts, you may request Velcro or magnets.

  • For the thread used to sew the plushie, I will typically charge you per color in order to match the thread to the colors of your plushie and make it much more hidden. However, if you would like less thread colors or if you would like specific thread colors, you may request them.

Step 3: The Pricing

Upon choosing your materials, you will receive an exact rundown of what the costs of making your plushie are! Here is an estimate of all of the material and work hour costs.
The price of your plushie will not change at any point in the commission prices UNLESS you request specific changes that require more materials or time.

Materials/WorkCost
Fleece Fabric$5-$10/yard/color
Minky Fabric (including shipping)$15-$23/yard/color
Embroidery Floss or Felt$1/color
Embroidery Stabilizer$5
Fusible Web$4
Polyfill$6
Poly-pellets$1/oz
Thread$3.50/color
3D Modeling Hours$10/hr, typically $25 total
Patterning Hours$7.50/hr, typically $3.75 total
Sewing Hours$15/hr, typically $60 total
Hand Embroidery Hours$10/hr, typically $10 per section
Applique Hours$10/hr, typically $10 per section
Shipping$10-$50, depending on location and size of plushie
Fees3.49% of total price + $.49 (+ 1.5% if out of the United States)

The total cost will be rounded to the nearest dollar. Plushies will always cost at least $100.

Step 4: The 3D Model

  • I will create a 3D model based on the reference sheet.

  • Minor tweaks to the position can be made, but you must completely redo the commission from step 1 if you would like a different position.

  • This 3D model is used to create the pattern.

  • By commissioning me, you will not have ownership of the 3D model nor the pattern created from it.

  • Once you approve of this, the plushie will start to be made!

Step 5, 6, 7...: The Rest

  • I will frequently update you on the rest of the progress! I will continue in this order: patterning; hand embroidery or applique; sewing; then stuffing. Additions like magnets and Velcro will fit anywhere within this order.

  • When it comes to refunds, you can receive a refund based on the work hours for the steps that I have not started. Any steps that I have already started have been paid for and cannot be refunded. 3D modeling is included in this process.

  • For example, if I am charging you $25 for 3D modeling, $3.75 for patterning, $20 for hand embroidery, and $60 for sewing (I do not charge for stuffing), and I confirm that I have begun the patterning process, the maximum refund you can receive is $80 ($20+$60). Alternatively, if I have begun the hand embroidery, the maximum refund you can receive if $60.

  • These updates will not be solely verbal, as I will provide pictures with proof that the previous step is complete and that I have begun the next step.

  • Upon completing of all of these steps, your plushie will be complete and ready to ship!

  • You will need to confirm your shipping address and update it if it has changed. I will be able to provide an estimate of when you should receive the plushie based on your address, but if you are or will be away from that address for a long time, please notify me of when you'll be back so I can make sure it will get to your address when you are available to receive it. For example, if your plushie will take 4 days to arrive at your address and you will be on vacation, I will send it up to 3 days before you get home.

  • You will be given a link in order to track your package through USPS.

All prices are in $USD.
